The Imperial PI Client Portal is built around security-first principles. Every feature, every file, every message is designed to be private by default.

AES-256 Encryption at Rest

All files stored in the portal — documents, evidence, vault contents — are encrypted using AES-256. Your vault adds a second encryption layer derived from your personal PIN that is never stored server-side.

TLS 1.3 — Encrypted in Transit

All data between your browser and the portal is transmitted over TLS 1.3, the current gold standard for web encryption. No plaintext data ever crosses the network.

Two-Factor Authentication

TOTP-based 2FA is supported via Google Authenticator, Authy or any compatible app. We strongly recommend enabling 2FA. It takes under two minutes to set up from your Security settings.

Full Audit Log & Trail

Every action in the portal is logged with a timestamp, user and IP address. You can review your own complete audit trail at any time and export it as CSV or PDF for your records.

UK GDPR Compliant

The portal is operated in full compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018. You can request a full export of your data at any time under Article 20 (right to data portability).

Court-Admissible Evidence Chain

All evidence uploaded to the portal is logged through a cryptographic chain of custody. Every access, upload and download is recorded. Chain of custody documentation is available for any evidence item at any time.

Administrator-Approved Access Only

Portal accounts are not self-serve. Every new account request is manually reviewed and approved by an Imperial PI administrator before activation. Your portal access is issued directly to you and your case only.

Questions

Who can access the portal?

Access is exclusively available to confirmed Imperial PI clients. Once your instruction is in place, your account is manually created and approved by our admin team. You will receive an activation email within 24 hours of your engagement being confirmed.

What devices and browsers are supported?

The portal is fully browser-based and works on all modern browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge on desktop, tablet and mobile. No app download or installation is required.

Is there an additional charge for portal access?

No. The client portal is included as a standard part of every Imperial PI instruction at no additional cost. It is part of our commitment to transparency and professional client service.

How secure are my messages and files?

All messages are end-to-end encrypted and logged for compliance. Files stored in the portal are AES-256 encrypted at rest. Vault files carry an additional encryption layer derived from your private PIN, which is never stored by us.

Can I download my personal data?

Yes. Under UK GDPR Article 20 (right to data portability) you can request and download a full export of all personal data we hold about you directly from the My Profile section of the portal.

The portal is listed as under active development — is it stable?

"Active development" means we are actively adding new features and improvements — not that it is unstable. The portal is live, tested and in production use by current Imperial PI clients. Core functionality is fully operational.
